Olga Maksimenkova graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (Technical University) in 2006 with a degree in Applied Mathematics. In 2018, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences. Since 2004 till present she is an active participant of the professional community of teachers of algorithmicization and programming. During this period Olga Veniaminovna was a member of the team of authors of textbooks on informatics for schoolchildren of the publishing house “Prosveshcheniye”, headed the team of scientific translators of books on Unreal Engine game development, published by Bombora publishing house. In 2021, she directed the gamdev lab at IThub college. In 2022, in collaboration with her student Veselko Nikita, and Bombora publishing house, she published the book “Programming on Unreal Engine 5 for the beginner game developer” - the first fully domestic manual for novices.
Currently, she works as deputy head of the Software Engineering Department at the Computer Science Faculty of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and heads the Software Engineering of Computer Games project group.
