Biography

Ekaterina Alekseevna Trofimova holds a PhD in Computer Science. She is a Senior Specialist at the Skoltech Center for Artificial Intelligence and a Research Fellow at the LAMBDA Laboratory, National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE). Her expertise lies in machine learning, natural language processing, and the development of intelligent systems.

She graduated with honors from the Faculty of Economics at Moscow State University and went on to earn two master’s degrees — in Financial Management and Data Science (a joint program between HSE and Skoltech). She received her PhD in Computer Science from HSE, with a dissertation focused on the generation of ML pipelines from natural language descriptions.

At Skoltech, Ekaterina designs and teaches courses on key AI topics, including large language models, generative architectures, graph neural networks, and computer vision. In parallel, she conducts research at the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence at the LAMBDA lab.

Her work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals such as PeerJ and Journal of Physics, covering topics such as code generation for ML tasks, semantic analysis of programs, and data reconstruction in high-energy physics using GANs and VAEs.

Ekaterina actively contributes to educational and applied initiatives: she organizes machine learning summer schools and teaches at corporate universities (including Sber).
