Biography

Tanaev Valery Faritovich
Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of Russian Railways
Born on August 3, 1966.

In 1995 he graduated from the Siberian State Academy of Railway Engineering, in 2006 – Omsk State University of Railway Engineering.

He began his career in 1986 as an assistant locomotive driver at the Novokuznetsk locomotive depot of the Kemerovo Railway. Then he worked as a locomotive driver, a driver-instructor of locomotive crews at the above-mentioned depot, chief engineer, and later the head of the Novokuznetsk passenger car depot, the head of the Novosibirsk locomotive depot of the West Siberian Railway, the chief engineer of the Kuzbass branch of the West Siberian Railway, deputy head of the West Siberian and then October Railway for locomotive and car fleet, and chief engineer of the North Caucasus Mainline.

In 2009, he was appointed Deputy Head of the October Railway - Chief Auditor for Train Traffic Safety.

In 2011-2013, he worked as the Head of the October Directorate for the Repair of Traction Rolling Stock.

In 2013-2017, he worked as the Chief Engineer of the October Railway - a branch of Russian Railways.

In 2017-2022, he worked as the Head of the Northern Railway - a branch of Russian Railways.

In February 2022, he was appointed Head of the Moscow Railway - a branch of Russian Railways.

In December 2024, he was appointed Deputy General Director - Chief Engineer of Russian Railways.
