Skolkovo Foundation (Foundation for Development of the Center for Development and Commercialization of New Technologies) is a non-profit organization, a Russian foundation with government support. It was founded in 2010.

The main task of the Foundation is to create and ensure the functioning of the innovative territorial cluster “Skolkovo Innovation Center”.

The officially stated mission is to create an ecosystem, which implies the formation of favorable conditions for the innovation process. Scientists, designers, engineers and businessmen together with participants of educational projects work on the creation of competitive science-intensive developments of the world level in five priority areas:

• energy efficiency and energy saving;
• nuclear technologies;
• space technologies and telecommunications;
• biomedical technologies;
• strategic computer technologies and software.
