Film! Film! Film!

This year, participants and guests of Startup Village will have a special evening program Cinema Night. As part of the first day of the conference, the Main Stage will host a screening of the feature film «Case» directed by Alexei German Jr.

The evening film screening will be supported by Startup Village 2022 partner Patriki Film Festival.

According to the story, David Guramovich, a professor and specialist in Silver Age literature, accuses the mayor of a provincial town of stealing a large amount, but he himself becomes a defendant in an embezzlement case and is placed under house arrest.
Everyone around him advises him to go to the world as soon as possible, but David stubbornly decides to go to the end. He enters the struggle for his ideals, his name, and sometimes even for existence.

106 minutes of dramatic history performed by popular Russian actors: Merab Ninidze, Anna Mikhalkova, Anastasia Melnikova, Alexander Pal, Rosa Khairullina, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Alexandra Bortich and Anastasia Talyzina.

The screening will take place immediately after an interview with the director and screenwriter of the film, which will discuss technologies that are changing the film industry.

Alexei German Jr. graduated from VGIK, workshop of S. Solovyov and V. Rubinchik (2001). He worked at the Lenfilm film studio.

The film «The Case» (2021) received recognition from such festivals as: Cannes Film Festival - nomination «Un Certain Regard» (2021), Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Czech Republic, 2021), Window to Europe (Russia, Vyborg, 2021), Pingyao Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon International Film Festival - People Choice Award (China, 2021) and Belgrade International Film Festival (Serbia, 2022).

At the moment, the director’s last film «Air» about the fate of the women’s squadron during the Second World War is in the works.

Patriki Film Festival was founded in 2018 by Marina Zhigalova, an investor, entrepreneur, producer and managing shareholder of Independent Media, and Alex Bokov, a Russian producer and founder of the School of Event Production.

During its existence, its audience has grown to 300 thousand people, and online viewing of films presented as part of the festival has exceeded 1 million. In 2022, the international festival will be held online for the first time.
