Dmitry Medvedev welcomed the participants of the 14th Startup Village Technology Conference

The opening ceremony was moderated by Alexander Chernov, Deputy Chairman of the Board for Public, Social, and Educational Policy of the Skolkovo Foundation. He recalled the history of Skolkovo and added that Dmitry Medvedev had made the decision to establish the Foundation and signed the relevant decree 16 years ago. At the opening ceremony of Startup Village 2026, Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that the forum had become an important platform for the development of technological entrepreneurship, international cooperation, and professional dialogue over the years. «Startup Village has already become a traditional event, but it has not lost the spirit of innovation that has been present since its inception. The key to such forums is to avoid overregulation and ensure that they are characterized by an endless flow of human interactions, communication, and information exchange. Ultimately, this is an integral part of our overall technological development. Today, the focus is on robotics, industrial intelligence, digital technologies, and other promising areas. I would also like to express my gratitude to those who have come to Startup Village. The forum has attracted 10,000 participants, approximately 3,000 startups, and representatives from 30 countries. Despite the challenges and restrictions faced by our country, we continue to grow, and our technologies are attracting the attention of companies from various nations. However, the key factor is the environment that enables the advancement of these projects. I believe that we made the right decision 16 years ago. Today, Russia has the Skolkovo ecosystem, which allows for the growth of technological businesses, the generation of revenue, and the resolution of critical national, economic, and social challenges,» said Dmitry Medvedev. Startup Village is the flagship technology festival of Skolkovo, which has been bringing together startups, corporations, investors, scientists, and government representatives since 2013. The festival is organized by the Skolkovo Foundation, with the support of the Moscow Government and VEB.RF.
