If in the early years the SUV was a platform for searching for «unicorns» and stories about brilliant startups, by 2026 the agenda has become an applied testing ground for corporations and the state. It’s not just individuals with an idea that are coming onto the scene, but a large business with a specific technological request. The government has transformed from a moderator into a key customer and regulator, and the main question has changed from «How to attract investment?» to «What solution will solve a specific industry problem?»
The study identified five technological periods and recorded a tectonic shift: from copying global models to the formation of their own technological sovereignty.
● 2013-2015: Startup utopia and ecosystem construction. Copying global trends (Uber clones, Airbnb, dropshipping). The main characters are young entrepreneurs. Keywords: «innovation», «startup».
● 2016-2019: Digital expansion and new narratives. The growing interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The agenda revolves around ICO, tokenization and Big Data.
● 2020-2021: Digital transformation under pressure. The pandemic is becoming a driver: a sharp increase in sessions about MedTech, EdTech and remote technologies. The vocabulary is replenished with the words «remote format», «digital transformation».
● 2022-2024: The Turning point. The era of technological sovereignty. The departure of Western vendors, a buffer zone. Growing interest in industrial technologies, cybersecurity, and proprietary operating systems. Blockchain is almost disappearing from the mainstream agenda after 2019.
● 2025-2026: Corporate pragmatism and AI universalism. Focus on technological sovereignty, applied AI, industrial robotics, and energy transition. Investing only in mature solutions with a clear ROI.
An analysis of sustainable topics has shown that AI, digital transformation, health and biomedicine, investment, industrial and energy technologies, space, EdTech and creative industries have remained unchanged for 14 years. However, their semantic content has changed dramatically. The words «blockchain», «ICO», «crypto winter» have disappeared. They were replaced by «import independence», «digital twin», «industrial software» and «personnel sovereignty».
Interestingly, AI has become the only topic that has gone from a narrow interest of hobby programmers in 2013 to a universal end-to-end trend. By 2025-2026, this is no longer a topic for a separate session, but a basic pillar for all industries — from diagnostics in biomedicine to UAV control in industry and content generation in creative industries.
The technological agenda in Russia has completed a full cycle in 14 years: from startup optimism and naive copying of global models through the boom of blockchain and pandemic digitalization to corporate pragmatism and a strict demand for technological sovereignty. Startup Village is no longer a platform for finding a «magic investment». Today, the SUV 2026 is a meeting point for specific corporate and government demand with ready—made engineering solutions.
