In 2022, the Scientific Cinema Laboratory held its first workshop in Russia. The project brought together communities of scientists and filmmakers from different fields, creating a unique opportunity for them to interact and collaborate.
During the workshop, participants had the chance to get to know each other better, share their ideas, and explore new approaches to storytelling. Each director had the opportunity to communicate with scientists and choose a topic that was both interesting for them and relevant to their work.
The workshop was held at Skoltech, where the participants were able to not only discuss their scientific interests but also immerse themselves in the life of the institute. The collaboration resulted in the creation of 16 short films, directed by leading Russian filmmakers. These films are featured in the almanac «16 Ways to Change the World», which includes interviews with the filmmakers and their thoughts on the process of creating the films.
If you are interested in learning more about this project, we invite you to join us on May 30th at 6 pm for a screening of the short films and discussions with the filmmakers. We look forward to seeing you there!
