Biography

Graduated from the Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute with honors in 1996.

July 3, 2021 - appointed acting rector of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

December 30, 2021 - appointed rector of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

In 1994-2010, he worked at the State Scientific Center of the Russian Federation «Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics», where he went from a graduate student to the acting director of the institute. In 2001-2003 - postdoc at the University of Utrecht (Netherlands). At different periods, he worked on medium-term contracts at the University of Heidelberg (Germany), the University of Pisa (Italy), the Free University of Amsterdam (Netherlands), the Laboratory of Particle Physics (Annecy, France). Since 2008, he has been a member of the LHCb collaboration at the Large Hadron Collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN, Geneva).

In 2010-2021, he worked in various positions in the fundamental research management unit at the National Research Center «Kurchatov Institute». In 2014-2019, he headed the Scientific and Coordination Committee of the Kurchatov Institute Research Center for Cooperation of the Russian Federation with CERN.
